JOB TITLE: GENERAL NURSE.

LOCATION: SALGAA TOWN IN NAKURU.

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR NURSING SERVICES.

Main Duties and Responsibilities.

• Take the vital signs of all patients before sending them to the Doctor.
• Provide medical support of patient for medical or Clinical officers
• Attend to emergencies: resuscitate or stabilize before sending for admission.
• Perform general Nursing duties, e.g. wound cleaning and dressing, stitching, injection administration, sterilization and cleaning of instruments, preparation of biohazards and sharps for disposal.
• Ensure adherence to and assist patients through the correct sequence of events when being attended to at the Clinic as per flow-chart
• Maintain and update patient records as required
• Complete data entry on all relevant forms
• Ensure that there is a First Aid kit and it’s well stocked
• Train and supervise Nurse Assistants
• Help in counselling when necessary
• Ensure that confidentiality of patients information is maintained at all times
• Attend programme meetings as requested by the Supervisor.
• Put on your identification cards at all times and wear uniform as approved by the Nursing Council
• Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all members of staff.
• Act responsibly and in a professional manner at all times.
• Refer adult clients with low BMI and children with low Z-Scores to the Nutritionist for follow-up
• Assess the developmental milestones and immunization status of all children seen in the paediatric Clinic.
• Offer PITC services to the clients and fill the small PITC form appropriately and refer eligible client to the PITC counselor
• Offer family planning
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing [KRCHN or KRN]
• Registration from the Nursing Council of Kenya
• At least 1 year experience
